Week Seven: Personal

This was an overwhelming week of reading and experiencing comics both at home and in class. I would have never guessed that comics could be so personal and realistic. After reading Maus, a powerful story of a man's experience in surviving the Holocaust, and watching a movie comic about the bombing in Hiroshima, I felt slightly depressed to be honest. Being reminded of such tragic events in history is an eerie and exhausting feeling.

It is uncomfy to depict something through a cartoon-like illustration that is so heavy on the heart. I think it is so uncomfy because comics have always seemed to be fun, light, and easy on the mind in providing entertainment. I feel like I keep repeating myself but I just had to share my thoughts on such a week.
